When you're some between "I want be entertained," and "I should be productive on this hike while I listen," then you've definitely arrived at "Spotify, give me a sustainability podcast that will inspire me without making me feel ecocidal."

Sustainability podcasts are a great source of eco inspiration and cover a wide range of topics, from everyday minimalism to climate change solutions. Here are ten of our go-to podcasts to make you a better earth advocate than before your pushed play.

1. The David Suzuki Podcast

David Suzuki is an award-winning geneticist and science broadcaster who is not only the host of Canada’s TV program The Nature Of Things, but he also dishes up the fundamental truths of the world about the interwoven balance of all living things. The David Suzuki Podcast features episodes that each highlight a fundamental earth theme: fire, air, water, earth, and spirit. Suzuki welcomes experts and activist friends such as Jane Fonda and Neil Young to give their takes on subjects from climate protests to the spotlight COVID brought to our disconnection with nature.

2. Planet A

This earth gem is hosted by the Danish minister of Climate, Energy, and Utilities, Dan Jørgensen. His episodes give us clarity on how to spread good ideas about Climate Change and inspiration about how to become a global climate champion.

3. The Jane Goodall Hopecast Podcast

We admit, we have the softest of soft spots for Jane (see: The Gospel of Jane Goodall: Her Words of Wisdom And Why They Matter).

Jane Goodall decided that while the pandemic left her usually travel-packed life grounded in England, it wasn't a time to slow down but rather a time to lean in. We saw her speak a few months ago at the Guadalajara International Bood Fair where she was promoting The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide For Trying Times where she spoke about a personal worry that the pandemic would trigger deeper apathy for the environment.

The Hopecast is a companion to that novel with experts like Emma Lewisham, who owns a circular climate-positive beauty line telling their stories about bringing hope in a modern world full of plenty of reasons to fall into apathy.

4. A Sustainable Mind

A Sustainable Mind highlights prominent changemakers in science, environmental activism, and conscious startup businesses. This impactful podcast was the brainchild of Marjorie Alexander’s master's thesis project. She sought to answer a void she saw in people of color in the sustainability space. Her subjects range from harnessing the power of algae to the voluntary carbon credits market.

5. The Impact Report

The Impact Report brings stories from the frontlines of business and sustainability innovation to your ears. From waste to wealth, this podcast is applicable to every listener and gives insight into how our habits shape our world. Covering topics from Ecological Linguistics to what we can learn from listening to coral reefs, Think Sustainability will leave you thinking well into the day.

7. The Minimalists

9. How To Save A Planet

The How To Save A Planet podcast offers a refreshing and entertaining take on Climate Change, bringing the ideas with a splash of humor. In addition, they bring inspiring stories from the frontlines of the Climate Change movement hard pressed to convince every listener that they too can have an impact. They present everyday crossroads where we can be more earth considerate such as "Is My Lawn Bad For The Environment" - spoiler alert if your keeping it well watered and perfectly manicured...you should listen.

10. Sustainable(ish)

The Sustainable(ish{) Podcast broadcasts from the UK with the central aim to ease your eco-anxiety with actionable solutions.
